Whether you need a cozy place to study, a chance to socialise with friends after class or somewhere to source a sweet treat, Flipboard Cafe will meet all your needs.

Located on Monash University’s Caulfield campus, Flipboard Cafe boasts a range of healthy food and drink options targeted towards students on the go.

Originally debuting in 2014, on La Trobe Street, in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD embracing the coffee culture, the cafe now resides on Monash’s Caulfield campus.

While attending classes on campus at Caulfield for the past two years, I have been a frequent customer of the cafe. Hence, I have curated a structured review of the food and drinks I have sampled to share some insight into what they have to offer!

Pesto Chicken Cheese Melt Toastie

Price: $13.9

The pesto chicken toastie has quickly become of my favourite sandwiches at Flipboard. The toastie's crunch on the outside paired with the chicken and pesto on the inside offers an herby flavour which isn’t too overpowering. The melted cheese brings a savoury side to contrast the punch of the pesto too.

Tip: I highly recommend grabbing a soy latte to pair to wash it down.

Iced Matcha

Price: $7.9

There’s no doubt it’s hard to find a good matcha, especially now with the celebrated green beverage becoming an icon of Melbourne’s cafe scene. So if you’re in search of a quality matcha, Flipboard’s iced matcha has a smooth earthy flavour that isn’t too milky and not too bitter either. The sweetness is balanced and doesn’t overpower the matcha’s natural flavour which can easily ruin the taste of any drink. I have revisited their iced matcha countless times to help me focus while studying, plus it provides an instant cool-down as the weather starts to warm up.

Cinnamon Scroll

Price: $6.9

I was able to snag the last one in the afternoon, so get in early during the morning to get them while they are the freshest. The pastry was soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of cinnamon swirl throughout. Perfect with a cup of coffee any time of the day.
