We are just a day away from history likely being made, with either a Liberal or Labor candidate becoming the first Chinese-born woman to be voted in to the lower house during the federal election.
Hong Kong born Gladys Liu is the Liberal candidate for the Victorian seat of Chisholm. Her opponent is Labor's Jennifer Yang, who was born in Taiwan. There are seven other candidates running for the marginal seat.
